Women Participation in Indian Polity and Policy

India is a country where people worship the nation as “Bharatha Matha(A lady)” but refuses to see a woman in power. It is a hard truth that the participation of Women in Indian Politics is very low. Most of the political parties and leaders talk about promoting the women’s involvement in politics but their commitment seems to be confined to the  discussion of  the women reservation bills in the parliament.

Democracy is never complete without the equal involvement of both men and women. Talking about women reservations within a party itself is asking for a moon. Though the 73rd amendment gives a chance to empower women in rural areas, still their participation is very unelevated. In 2019, 21 million women were not even registered as voters, this shows how flat the involvement of women in the democratic process is.

Despite fighting for the right of equal leadership at all levels, Pseudo feminists confined their battle to controversial mottos. The citizens should realize it is in the interest of the nation and its future that women take on political roles at local, state, and national levels. To overcome the suppression, to protect her integrity, and to challenge the unethical social norms, A woman needs to be in a role where she can fight for her right democratically.

The Majority of Young Ladies in this generation are much more interested in time-consuming social applications and useless tv shows, they only unmute their social voice whenever a girl is being raped or murdered. Their sudden interest in blaming the government is just because of the heatwave. None of them truly realize that in order to protect themselves from the psychopaths, there needs to be someone from themselves to craft a strict public policy against such atrocities.

Here participation always does not refer to direct involvement in politics, it refers to raising their voice against the political evils and addressing their mistakes. All it takes is the courage to speak for truth and justice. One might accept it or not, Women can meaningfully manifest a leadership with great compassion., our political spectrum is craving for such leaders who can clean the political dirt with selflessness. So, it is not just the political parties, as a citizen of India, every man should understand the importance of Women Participation and give them a chance to be the front line activists of democracy.

Once a great man said democracy is served greatly when there is equal participation of both the genders. So, All I wish to see is a young girl talking about public policy in her social media platform, All I hope to see is women obtaining political positions at all levels standing against suppression from few men and other hindering forces.

In the heat of the movement, the public is on pins and needles and Governments remain to act unaware of the mayhem. After his landslide victory in the 2019 Assembly elections, Mr. Jagan Reddy has started his revenge drama. Right from Polavaram Project to Amaravati Issue, he has been doing ‘reverse tendering’ to all the works of his predecessor, Mr. Nara Chandra Babu Naidu claiming that the ex-chief minister was involved in ‘Insider Trading’. But Instead of straightening out the situation of the state, Mr. Reddy has made it even worse. Recently, Mr. Reddy has decided to shift the capital from Amaravati to Kurnool and Visakhapatnam. That decision was a bomb on Amaravati Farmers as they gave away their agricultural lands for the State G...
